Job Description:
Requirement for a senior quantitative finance leader to manage the Quants team of ARQ group. The Quants team comprises multiple sub-groups working with various business partners . The teams work on model development/governance, data analytics and insight generation, data science models and front office structuring/trading support. The qualified candidate should have hands-on experience in quantitative fields and have ample experience in building, and leading team(s) comprising highly qualified individuals. This is a senior role that would have managers reporting into it.
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will be responsible for a broad range of activities as follows:
- Partner with businesses to build and sustain the quants capabilities , setup the talent pipeline in partnership with local institutions
- Set strategic direction with respect to Quants capabilities and offerings by defining global footprint, customer model, and coverage philosophy
- Develop a high performing functional and managerial and execution leadership team that is driven to lead
- Lead multi-functional Quants teams across delivery locations in GBS India and collaborate with respective businesses
- Responsible for coaching and guiding people managers and overseeing team management processes including hiring, training, performance management and career development.
Requirements:
Education:
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in Statistics and/or Mathematics and/or Financial Mathematics and/or Economics and/or Engineering physics from Top tier institutes such as IITs, NITs, Indian Statistical Institutes etc.
- Certifications If Any : FRM, CFA, CQF etc.
Experience Range:
- 15-20 years
Foundational skills:
- Strong Quantitative and Leadership skills
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in financial risk modeling or validation leadership role
- Expertise in cross-sectional and time-series econometrics, applied mathematics and statistics models
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments (including derivatives) and financial risk management principles
- Hands-on programming experience (preferably Python)
- Strong Written and Oral Communication
- Ability to follow up with issues and summarize discussions
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and work well with people at all levels
