Purchase Executive

The Purchase Executive from a Real Estate business background will have the responsibility to handle end to end procurement of the assigned material and ensure timely delivery of materials at sites and timely payment to suppliers. The position will also create good relationship with vendors and control inventory by optimizing lot size and reducing lead time.

Role & responsibilities

• To receive purchase indent/request from sites
• To review the purchase indent/request quantities with quantity surveyor
• To Get quotes from vendors and preparing comparison statement and getting approvals from management before initiating purchase process
• To Prepare and enter POs, WOs, respective bills in ERP
• To Release purchase order duly indicating the technical specifications, required time of delivery and other terms and conditions on one or more approved suppliers
• Arranging for inspection at suppliers premises, if required
• Ensuring the timely supply of the quantity of ordered materials to various construction sites.
• Closely coordinating with Site staff for requirement, delivery, quality of materials received etc
• Taking up with the suppliers for any shortage, damage, inferior material supplied based on Material Receipt Note.
• Developing new suppliers, maintaining and updating approved suppliers for various items / services which affect quality.
• Periodically evaluating approved suppliers
• Intimating to management in case excess materials requisitioned beyond BOQ before initiating purchase action.
• Co-ordinating with Accounts for timely payments to suppliers.
• Any other work as assigned / specified by the management from time to time
• To support on exploring market potential and interface with customers and client prospects for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities.

To do such other assignments as advised by management/board

Preferred candidate profile

• Knowledge and experience in construction industry and project management.
• B. Tech/B.E. in Civil or equivalent education.
• Understanding of strategic aspects of business.
• Proven experience as Procurement/Purchase or equivalent role.
• Handled restructuring of process, procedures.
• Skilled in ERP - and other operational and business support systems.
• Effective negotiations skills.
• Well-rounded leadership skills.
