Role & responsibilities

1) Engineering Experience:

• Design & Calculation Review:
  
• Review design calculations for High Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, reactors, crystallizers, Distillation columns , Pumps and similar equipment.
  
• Ensure compliance with ASME Sec VIII DIV-1, TEMA, IS 2825, PESO API, and other relevant engineering standards and codes.
  
• Review Boiler Packages, Turbine Packages, and Coal and Ash Handling Packages.
  
• Provide technical input into project engineering and ensure designs are aligned with operational and safety standards.
  
• Manage the material selection process for equipment based on compatibility with various process fluids.
  

2) Procurement Experience:

• Material Knowledge:
  
• Expertise in ASME/ASTM/IS materials, (CS / SS / Alloy steels /Hastalloy etc )including understanding material specifications and associated costs.
  
• Lead negotiations and ensure competitive pricing for piping fabrication, equipment, piping erection, and structural erection.
  
• Develop and finalize domestic and international contracts for supply and services, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and legally sound.
  

3) Inspection Experience:

• Certifications & Inspection:
  
• Knowledge in Negotiations with TPIA team for finalization of Man day rates , Lump sum contracts etc.
  
• Ensure stage-wise and final inspections of key equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, rotating equipment, air fin coolers, adiabatic coolers, and crystallizers.
  
• Conduct regular site inspections of equipment erection, structural work, piping, supports, and insulation.
  
• Provide oversight in civil construction by reviewing and ensuring quality in civil drawings and construction practices.
  
• Through knowledge in Welding and welders qualifications as per ASME/ IS etc for various materials .
  

4) Project Management & Leadership:

• Team Leadership:
  
• Provide leadership and direction to the Project Team, Site Team, Procurement Team, and Engineering Team to ensure effective project execution.
  
• Guide management in addressing project delays, identifying potential issues, and developing solutions to keep projects on track.
  
• Review project timelines and deliverable to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
  
• Continuously monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures.
  
• Communication & Reporting:
  
• Regularly report project progress, risks, and performance to senior management, offering actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  
• Foster strong communication between all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned with project goals and objectives.

Preferred candidate profile

We are looking for a candidate having BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field and certified in ASNT Level-II in PT, MT, RT, and UT.

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management, engineering design, procurement, and inspection and erection of large chemical plants in an industrial setting.
  
• Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, especially in the Chemicals, Speciality Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas sectors sectors.
  
• Hands-on experience with engineering codes and standards like ASME, TEMA, IS 2825, and PESO.
  
• Extensive experience with material procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
