Roles Responsibilities

The Executive - Materials will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing material resources within the Production ATL Primary Metals function at PTC. This role is responsible for overseeing material procurement, inventory management, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of materials used in aerospace casting manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule raw material availability on a daily and weekly basis based on orders and production needs, as per the planning department inputs and daily schedule.
• Collaborating with Melting Procurement team and Supervisor of Warehouse Stores within material management department, to ensure real-time stock availability of materials required for melting, minimizing delays and production disruptions.
• Engage with the melting and pouring teams for efficient electrode/ingot, charging material preparation without delays due to material shortage.
• Coordinate with production team to extract samples for both chemical and mechanical testing of as-cast materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Work in tandem with customer support and Quality Control (QC) departments for conducting material testing in NABL accredited labs.
• Generate Material Requirement Planning (MRP) reports through the ERP system, sharing weekly, and daily material plans including direct raw materials and direct consumables with the melting procurement team and production team.
• Oversee the internal storage facility, ensuring effective storage of raw materials and maintain control on local inventory level.
• Conduct Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing for all materials to ensure quality and compliance.
• Generate and analyze reports on material usage, stock levels, and procurement metrics to inform decision-making and process improvement.
• Conduct regular Gemba walks on the shop floor to pro-actively identify Kaizen opportunities; demonstrate proficiency in 5S to drive continuous improvement in processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelors degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical/Production/ Auto-mobile Engineering ,B Sc Chemistry , or any bachelor degree related field.

Experience:

• 1- 4 years of proven experience in materials management or a related role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or metals production.

Technical / Functional Expertise other competencies:

• Strong understanding of materials management principles, inventory control systems, and procurement processes. Familiarity with aerospace industry standards is highly desirable.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve material management practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers, production teams, and management.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and manage contracts to achieve favourable terms.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve material-related issues promptly.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing material documentation and quality assurance.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and support production needs.
