Role Overview


We have a challenging opportunity for the role of Manager/Senior Manager level in our Financial Services Internal Audit and Financial Services Area for Middle East Region. Above roles work in a client facing role and take on the responsibility of identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks, observations by developing a end to end plan and project strategy and coming out with the quality outcome. They are expected to establish good working relationships with client personnel (at appropriate levels) by understanding client's perspective and become the de-facto go-to-person. Their work output is expected to be of outstanding quality. They constantly manage risk and verify whether key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes on the project delivery. Below are the broader idea of roles and responsibilities. Clarifications relating applicability of it for various level can be discusses at during interviews.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Spearhead internal client facing teams and guide them on solution delivery. Independently lead smaller modules of the engagement
  • Understanding the clients requirements and writing clear client proposals that articulate the specialized domain skills.
  • Assist team members in developing technical and professional competency. Coach, train, and support consultants in the team.
  • Independently execute assignments. Typical audit assignments comprise of conducting reviews of systems, internal controls, re-engineering processes, documentation of Standard Operating Procedures, and cost & working capital optimization.
  • Participating/ conducting interviews with clients (senior staff - heads of business units, SMEs, other stakeholders), analyzing the facts, establishing hypotheses, & deriving conclusions
  • Effectively deliver tasks on projects as guided by the seniors and client management team
  • Manage multiple assignments and related project internal teams
  • Meet quality guidelines within the established turnaround time (or allotted budget) for assigned requests
  • Establish deep relationships with client personnel (at appropriate levels) by understanding clients perspective
  • Constantly monitor project progress, manage risk and verify key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Participate in sales and support business development initiatives.
  • Delivering concise deliverables that are tailored to the clients business, and requirements, in a timely fashion.
  • Supporting the engagement delivery (staff, time, client) to achieve high-quality deliverables, on time
  • Creating new business opportunities by presenting specific value propositions to clients, or preparing collateral packs
  • Contributing to conscious efforts that promote the engagement economics and hence the overall Group profitability.
  • Bridging a Gap between Seniors and client stakeholders, timely communication, reporting and escalation to meet project objective

Required Skill Set:


  • In depth understanding of Internal Audit and Risk Management concepts and corresponding experience in FS entities such as Banks, Shadow banks, Investment Banks, Asset Management Companies, Capital Markets , Payment and Fintech, Insurance etc.

  • Deep understanding of credit life cycle (underwriting & approvals), and experience in credit rating & analysis + approvals
  • Assist clients with testing internal process controls and developing internal audit plans
  • Assess the current state of an organization's internal control/Sarbanes-Oxley Act framework and help clients drive value and efficiency in their internal controls by implementing leading practices
  • Assist clients in addressing compliance, financial, operational, and strategic risk etc.
  • Review organisation policy and procedures and convert the same into risk and controls attached to it
  • Identify, assess and monitor risks by developing a and strategy and identify opportunities to improve business processes
  • Solid understanding of investment life cycle in asset allocation and its link to appetite setting, pre and post-investment due-diligence
  • Implementing the corporate governance standards in banks and investment banks board focused initiatives aligning to regulatory best-practices
  • Establishing a risk governance structure with clear roles and responsibilities
  • Implementing operational risk frameworks with solid understanding of process maps, risks and controls deep product knowledge is essential
  • Conducting Fraud Scenario Assessments in FS clients banks and investment banks
  • Implementing Enterprise Risk Management frameworks across multiple FS clients (stock exchanges, investment companies).
  • Developing risk policies and processes in credit, market, operational risks, ALM tailored to the specific business line
  • Understanding the clients requirements and supporting with client proposals that articulate the specialized domain skills.
  • Conducting end to end internal audit, thematic audit, risk based internal audit, IFC testing, SOX testing etc.

Desired Profile:


Qualification:


  • MBA/CA/CIA/SEMI/CISA/SEMI/CFA/ Semi Qualified and Graduate with relevant experience in Big4, Consultancy or Banks, under-graduation in a quantitative discipline (preferably engineering, mathematics, statistics) or Post Graduation in any of the above-mentioned areas including data and analysis
  • Under-graduation in a quantitative discipline (preferably engineering, mathematics, statistics) or Post Graduation in any of the above-mentioned areas including data and analysis, PHD or Doctorate in Risk management or MBA from global or reputed B school with less experience. Risk Management function or Line Business of a commercial bank, investment bank, NBFC Shadow bank or an insurance firm (credit, market, operational and ALM)

  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment as well as independently. Work with team members to set goals and responsibilities for specific engagements. Foster teamwork and innovation.
  • Ability to work under pressure. Mature, proactive and displays initiative. Manages own and others time well.
  • Possesses excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Good oral and written communication skills including documentation of findings and recommendations. Adept at preparing and presenting reports to an audience.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet client needs. This may require travel and work more than standard hours when necessary. Second language skills and international business experience will be useful.
  • Able to demonstrate the leadership skills
