Head - Operations - Solar Power Industry (10-15 yrs)

Position Name : Head of Operations - Nigeria Operations

Location : Patna - Open to travel to the rural areas of Nigeria, every quarter for 15 days, at least.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Reporting to Global VP - Operations and responsible for Up time management, preventive maintenance, safety practices, plant capacity management, asset management and report generation.

- Responsible for smooth functioning of PV Solar/ Biomass Power Plants and implementing effective techniques to bring efficiency in performance of the plants.

- Maintain scheduled equipment healthiness checklist including Preventive maintenance planning, Shutdown planning.

- Quality verification of work during Hand over - Take over from the Projects department.

- Interact and liaison with local authorities for smooth functioning of the plant.

- Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the company's success.

- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct the safe operation and maintenance activities at sites.

- Interface with the vendors / contractors to review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Ensure completion of technical documents; grid outages, onsite equipment problems, log entries, site visits; safety and environmental inspections.

- Departmental budgeting and monitoring performance as per the annual budget.

- Freezing KPIs for self and the reportees in the O&M team.

- Responsible for training and development of operations team including electricians, and engineers as per the system design standards.

- Regular interaction and engagement with other verticals especially sales to ensure and extend required support for growth of business.

- Responsible for managing and ensuring security standards at the plant and enable quick turnaround time for action in case of security issues.

- Responsible for management of spares and inventory components based on criticality and lifecycle of the components.

- Responsible for managing fuel supply chain and stock for Diesel generators and Biomass gasifiers.

Requirements:

- Experience of working in dynamic high growth entrepreneurial/ start up organizations.

- Should have handled operations & maintenance of solar PV plants, Biomass, other renewable energy sources, especially micro-grids.

- Should have monitored maintenance of LT Transmission & Distribution lines, protective relays & associated equipment, and inverters.

- Good knowledge of solar PV Panels, Inverter, Battery bank, T&D lines, SCADA system and all solar electrical operational equipment.

- Overall, a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.

- B. tech/B.E./MTech -Specialization: Electrical / Electronic from a reputed institution.

- This role is based in Patna, Bihar.

- Open to travel to the rural areas of Nigeria, every quarter for 15 days, at least.
