Ajna Lens - Project Manager - AR/VR Products (8-9 yrs)

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) headsets and accessories.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing hardware, software, and firmware development for mobile or wearable devices.

This role requires a strong technical background, a strategic mindset, and exceptional leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams in delivering cutting-edge AR/VR products to market.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee end-to-end development of AR/VR headsets and accessories, from concept to production.

- Manage cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware, software, and firmware engineers, ensuring seamless integration.

- Drive the product roadmap, balancing innovation with technical feasibility and market requirements.

- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with business objectives.

- Create and maintain development timelines, ensuring on-time delivery of key milestones.

- Anticipate risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges in design, prototyping, and production.

- Coordinate with industrial designers, UX teams, and system architects to ensure a cohesive product vision.

- Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams and leadership, providing regular progress updates.

- Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and manufacturing teams for components and production.

- Provide insights into emerging AR/VR technologies, mobile units, and related accessories.

- Ensure hardware-software-firmware compatibility to deliver high-performance, reliable, and user-friendly products.

- Lead prototype development, testing, and refinement processes.

- Understand market trends and customer needs to inform product features and design priorities.

- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and customer adoption.

Educational Background :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

- Minimum 8+ years of experience in product development, including 4+ years managing hardware, software, and firmware projects.

- Proven track record of delivering consumer electronics, mobile devices, or wearable technology to market.

- Experience with AR/VR headsets, accessories, or similar devices is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of hardware engineering, embedded systems, and software development lifecycles.

- Familiarity with display technologies (OLED, microLED, waveguides), sensors, and motion tracking systems.

- Understanding of wireless communication protocols (e.g , Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).

Leadership and Management:

- Strong project management skills, including proficiency with tools like JIRA, Trello, or MS Project.

- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities, with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under tight deadlines.

Other Skills:

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

- Experience in collaborating with global teams and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with UX/UI design principles and user testing methodologies for AR/VR products.

- Knowledge of optics and waveguide technology.

- Familiarity with AI/ML applications for immersive experiences.

- PMP or Agile certification is a plus.
