Project Associate - Convex Optimization and Model Predictive Control (MPC)

Position Summary:

We are seeking motivated and talented post-bachelor candidates with a strong foundation in control systems and neural networks to join our research team. This role involves working on projects in convex optimization and its application in Model Predictive Control (MPC). The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in exploring data science techniques for control systems, with a focus on solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development:

• Develop and implement convex optimization algorithms for MPC frameworks.
• Explore the integration of neural networks into control systems.
• Train neural networks using convex optimization
• Investigate novel approaches to enhance MPC solutions using machine learning

Collaboration and Documentation:

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align research goals with project objectives.
• Document findings and contribute to technical reports and publications.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelors degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of optimization methods and control theory.
• Familiarity with MPC concepts
• Programming skills in python

Experience:

• Prior work or research experience in control systems,optimization, and neural networks.
• Exposure to data-driven methodologies in controlapplications is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex problems.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

A proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of systems modeling and simulation.

Familiarity with tools like Simulink, optimization solvers.

Work Location: Walmart Center for Tech Excellence, Indian Institute of Technology Madras,Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
