Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

Planning and Leadership

1. Develop and implement production strategies to achieve objectives.

2. Provide leadership and direction to production teams.

3. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Supply Chain, Sales) to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Production Operations

1. Oversee production planning, scheduling, and execution.

2. Ensure efficient use of resources (e.g., labor, equipment, materials).

3. Implement and maintain effective production processes and procedures.

4. Manage production costs, including labor, materials, and overheads.

Quality and Food Safety

1. Ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, BRC).

2. Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures.

3. Conduct regular quality and safety audits to identify areas for improvement.

Team Management and Development

1. Manage and develop a team of production staff, including supervisors, team leaders, and operators.

2. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to improve team performance and skills.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

1. Monitor and report on production performance metrics (e.g., efficiency, productivity, quality).

2. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

3. Provide regular updates to middle management on production performance and progress against objective

Preferred candidate profile

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of food safety and quality regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, BRC).

Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
