1 Electropneumatics & Hydraulics (I) Production Engineer Job

Role & responsibilities

1. Machine Assembly & Setup:
• Oversee the assembly,installation, and commissioning of tube bending machines.
• Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and functionality of machine components.
2. Tooling Expertise & Optimization:
• Select, install, and maintain bending dies, mandrels, clamps, and pressure dies for different tube profiles.
• Optimize tooling to achieve precise bends, minimal material wastage, and maximum machine efficiency.
3. Production Supervision:
• Lead a team of operators and technicians in the bending machine assembly shop.
• Monitor work schedules, resource allocation, and production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
4. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in bending machines.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure preventive maintenance and minimize downtime.
5. Process Improvement & Quality Control:
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies for continuous improvement.
• Conduct quality checks on bent tubes to meet dimensional accuracy and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance bending processes.
6. Training & Development:
• Train and mentor operators on machine setup, tooling changes, and safety procedures.
• Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and best practices for machine operations.
7. Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to ISO, OSHA, and company-specific safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce machine guarding and PPE usage.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in tube bending machine assembly, tooling, and production supervision.
• Strong knowledge of CNC and manual tube bending machines.
• Expertise in tooling selection, setup, and maintenance for bending operations.
• Hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to automotive, aerospace, or heavy fabrication industries.
• Knowledge of PLC-based bending machine controls.
• Familiarity with robotic bending or automated tube bending systems.
