Power BI Developer

We are seeking a Power BI Developer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering end-to-end solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Power BI reports while ensuring data accuracy, performance, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into powerful visual insights.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in designing and developing Power BI reports for commercial use with large datasets.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience writing SQL queries for large, complex datasets to meet business and functional requirements.
• Strong proficiency in DAX expressions for Power BI development.
• Experience with ETL/Data Warehousing concepts including Analysis Services Tabular Models.
• Hands-on experience with source control (e.g., Git).
• Proficiency in writing stored procedures in Snowflake.
• Familiarity with data modeling using DBT (Preferred).
• Experience in Power BI Embedded using TypeScript API function calls (Preferred).
• Exposure to at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Python).
• Knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• US healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
• Work with large datasets and complex queries to extract meaningful insights.
• Ensure high performance and responsiveness of reports and dashboards.
• Follow established coding, architecture, and UI/UX best practices.
• Develop logical and algorithmic designs independently, while assisting peers when needed.
• Conduct peer reviews of designs and provide technical guidance.
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing Power BI reports to improve performance and usability.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Power BI and data analytics.
• Provide technical support for escalations and customer inquiries regarding report functionality.
