Senior Product Owner

Intro and job overview:

The Sr. Product Owner is the member of the Agile Scrum Team responsible for translating user requirements to technical requirements and prioritizing the backlog to streamline the execution of the Product roadmap while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for which the team is responsible. The Sr. Product Owner must understand the market, the customers, and the strategy to make sound decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and work with key stakeholders throughout the organization and communicate decisions or progress. The Sr. Product Owner also must have a thorough understanding of the overall product vision and strategy and convey that to the scrum team. This includes defining for the team how each sprint contributes to the bigger picture. The Sr. Product Owner must actively engage with the scrum team to ensure a successful release.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• You will work with Product Managers to understand and validate customer needs and understand Product Vision.
• You will interact directly with customers to understand their needs as they relate to the current and future roadmap.
• You will execute on the product roadmap by prioritizing and maintaining the Product Backlog which may include enhancements, tasks and/or defects.
• You will triage incoming feature requests to determine appropriateness for the product roadmap.
• You will demonstrate delivered features to internal stakeholders and external teams.
• You will convey the vision and goals to the scrum team at the beginning of every release and sprint.
• You will assist with the elaboration and decomposition of Master Features, Features, and Epics into User Stories.
• You will, together with the scrum team, commit backlog items to sprint deliverables in Sprint Planning.
• You will work with the scrum team to address questions and concerns during sprints related to product functionality.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• You have current or previous Product Owner experience.
• You have proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
• You have 6+ years working in a scrum agile software development environment.
• You have 6+ years of enterprise software product management and/or business analyst experience.
• You have outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills with ability to present to various audiences from individuals on scrum teams to stakeholders and customers.
• Preferred requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in the master data management, data integration, data quality, data governance, metadata management software space.
• Experience with SaaS software delivery.
