Job Description
Safety Protocol Development:
- Develop and update UAV flight safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international aviation regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for UAV operations.
Training and Education:
- Provide safety training to UAV pilots and crew members.
- Conduct safety briefings and debriefings before and after UAV operations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Incident Management:
- Investigate UAV incidents and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Document and report incidents to relevant authorities.
- Develop corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Operational Oversight:
- Monitor UAV flight operations to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate with flight planning and maintenance teams to ensure safe operations.
- Review and approve UAV flight plans and risk assessments.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with changes in UAV regulations and industry standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary certifications and permits are obtained.
- Maintain documentation and records as required by regulatory authorities.
Safety Equipment and Technology:
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of safety equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend safety technologies and equipment enhancements.
- Ensure the availability and functionality of emergency response tools.
