Head of Engineering (12-20 yrs)

Position Overview :

We're seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our dynamic engineering department of 35 developers and 10 QA specialists. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, foster innovation, and guide our transition to AI-led development practices while maintaining our commitment to high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a talented engineering team in the development of our flagship low-code product

- Lead the implementation of solutions for ports across the world

- Oversee solution design and high-level technical architecture across multiple technology stacks

- Drive project delivery and engineering productivity while maintaining quality standards

- Develop technical solutions for tenders and client proposals

- Establish and enforce robust SDLC practices, including unit testing, test case management, and testing automation

- Spearhead the transition to AI-led coding practices

- Manage DevOps processes and infrastructure

- Collaborate with product, business, and customer success teams to align technical direction with business goals

Required Technical Skills :

- Extensive experience with Java Spring Boot, Angular, .NET, and Flutter

- Strong understanding of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems

- Experience implementing and managing API gateways and ESBs

- Knowledge of RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and security best practices

- DevOps expertise including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure

- Strong documentation skills and adherence to global coding standards

Qualifications :

- 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in leadership roles

- Proven track record of leading large engineering teams and complex projects

- Experience transitioning teams to new development methodologies

- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

- Experience in maritime, logistics, or supply chain technology preferred

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
