Job Description

Position Overview:
The Preschool Incharge / Center Head is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the preschool center. This includes overseeing daily operations, implementing educational programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, managing staff, liaising with parents, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Center Head plays a key role in shaping the learning environment, fostering positive relationships with families, and ensuring the smooth running of the preschool facility.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Staff Management:
    • Supervise and lead a team of teachers, assistant teachers, and support staff.
    • Ensure staff are trained in child development, educational standards, and safety protocols.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development opportunities for staff.
    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive working environment for all staff members.
    • Ensure staff compliance with organizational policies, classroom management strategies, and child safety standards.
  1. Curriculum Implementation and Educational Quality:
    • Ensure the preschool curriculum is implemented effectively, in line with age-appropriate educational goals and the organizations philosophy.
    • Regularly review and assess the educational programs, making adjustments as needed to enhance children's learning experiences.
    • Promote a child-centered approach that fosters creativity, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
    • Encourage and support ongoing assessment of student progress and well-being.
    • Provide leadership in organizing learning activities, events, and special programs that engage children and families.
  1. Parent and Community Relations:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on their childs progress.
    • Organize parent-teacher meetings, orientations, and workshops to foster open communication and active parent involvement in the school community.
    • Act as a liaison between the preschool and the larger community, building relationships with local organizations and supporting community events.
  1. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
    • Ensure a safe and hygienic learning environment for children and staff, in compliance with local regulations, health standards, and safety protocols.
    • Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, health and safety, and incident reports.
    • Oversee the implementation of emergency preparedness and first aid protocols, ensuring staff are trained to handle emergencies appropriately.
    • Stay updated on legal and regulatory requirements related to early childhood education and ensure the preschool is in full compliance.
  1. Administrative and Operational Oversight:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool, including scheduling, classroom management, and resource allocation.
    • Manage enrollment processes, including welcoming new families, providing information, and supporting admissions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate record-keeping for student files, staff documentation, and financial records.
    • Monitor the preschools budget and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds for classroom materials, activities, and facility maintenance.
    • Prepare and submit reports to regional management, including updates on student progress, staff performance, and operational efficiency.
  1. Marketing and Outreach:
    • Actively promote the preschool through various channels (social media, community events, open houses, etc.) to attract prospective students.
    • Maintain a welcoming and professional environment for prospective families visiting the center.
    • Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials such as brochures, newsletters, and flyers.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of education, operations, and services provided to children and families.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay informed about new trends and research in early childhood education.
    • Encourage a culture of innovation, creativity, and best practices within the preschool.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
    • Relevant certifications in early childhood education, child development, or school leadership are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
    • Strong experience in curriculum development, classroom management, and child-centered learning strategies.
    • Proven track record in managing a team, handling administrative duties, and interacting with parents.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
    • In-depth knowledge of early childhood development principles, education standards, and child safety.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, make decisions, and solve problems in a timely manner.
    • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite) and educational tools.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with local education regulations and licensing requirements for early childhood programs.
  • Experience in implementing diverse learning strategies for children with special needs or diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus, depending on the community served.
