NPD Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Quality NPD Assistant with 3-4 years of experience in quality control and new product development (NPD) within the automotive plastic injection moulding industry.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with layout inspection, PPAP documentation, and CMM machines, supporting both quality and NPD teams to ensure product quality and compliance with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Layout Inspection Perform detailed inspections of new and existing products to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
• PPAP Documentation – Prepare and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents, ensuring accurate and timely submissions for customer approval.
• CMM Operation – Operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to conduct dimensional and functional inspections.
• NPD Support – Assist in evaluating product designs to ensure manufacturability and compliance within the plastic injection moulding process.
• Root Cause Analysis – Identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and support corrective/preventive actions for continuous improvement.
• Measurement & Testing – Perform physical measurements and tests using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Process Improvement – Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, proposing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
• Reporting & Documentation – Maintain accurate inspection records, testing data, and analysis results. Prepare quality reports and presentations for internal teams and management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in quality control or NPD within the plastic injection moulding or automotive manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of layout inspection, PPAP documentation, and CMM operations.
• Experience with automotive industry quality standards (ISO/TS16949) and customer-specific requirements.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with quality and NPD teams

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA).
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Experience with quality management systems and auditing.
