Piping Designer

Major Responsibilities:

·        Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, plant layout and materials for preparation and development of piping deliverables. Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline. Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.

·        Requires a good knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings

·        Author, review and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D model and plant designs.

·        Piping Designer involvement starts right from feasibility and then to conceptual and detail engineering where the output comes in terms of drawings.

·        Performs the work includes the preparation of layouts, study drawings, nozzle orientations detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.

·        Plan and prepare layout to analyze the space requirement, road access, maintenance space, location of equipment, and requirement of pipe rack

·        Review and ensure that the design is compliance with the international codes & standards, local country codes & client specifications.

·        Cross verifies the stress report with supports mentioned in the drawings to avoid design flaws.

·        Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.

·        Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.

·        Perform work in Power sector Projects. Experience of Nuclear projects will be an added advantage.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

·        A minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant field is required

·        A recognized degree in a job-related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or specialized courses in relevant general engineering, design or science or an appropriate engineering discipline.

·        Conversant with applicable Codes & Standards for plant piping design, ASME/ANSI B31.1, API520, ANSIB16.5, API602, etc.

·        Able to provide quick and effective technical solutions, to suit requirements at all stage of the project.
