Associate Product Manager - Identity
Importance of the role:
At Setu, we believe that every company can become a fintech company. Any tech-enabled business which wants to offer or build financial products will consume Setu APIs. In an early stage fintech company like Setu, the leader of the alliance and account aggregator function plays a critical role in the success of the business. You will be responsible for driving the company's strategic partnerships and alliances, which can have a significant impact on revenue and market share. In brief, you will play a critical role in driving revenue, increasing market share, expanding the customer base, fostering innovation, and saving on costs.
This role is special since it will give you a deep look into the business objectives and technical architecture of multiple companies in leading a customer obsessed business that delights our customers and aids in their innovation. The learning potential is immense!
What will you do at Setu?
We are looking for an Associate Product Manager to assist in the growth and development of our B2B products with a focus on business and revenue metrics. You will work closely with senior product management, contributing to product development, sales, and business strategy to ensure that the products you help manage align with company objectives. If you have experience assisting in shipping products that have measurable business impacts and enjoy learning in a resource-constrained environment, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the product strategy and execution, focusing on achieving business and revenue goals.
- Assist in managing B2B products from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and other teams to assist in executing product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to set product KPIs and track performance, iterating to improve metrics like conversion, retention, and monetization.
- Assist in managing the full product lifecycle, including ideation, development, go-to-market strategies, and post-launch optimization.
- Be an advocate for the customer, leveraging data and insights to inform product decisions and enhance the user experience.
- Prioritize features and initiatives, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision, especially when resources are constrained.
- Stay informed about the fintech landscape, particularly trends and technologies related to KYC and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance API products, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and contribute to business growth.
Who is the right fit for this role?
- 1-2 years of experience in product management, ideally in a B2B context with a focus on driving business and revenue metrics.
- Understanding of the fintech industry, with knowledge of KYC processes being a significant plus.
- Hands-on experience with API infrastructure, understanding how APIs function, and working closely with engineering teams to implement and optimize API integrations.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Some experience in sales or an understanding of the sales process is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at various levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to make informed product decisions and measure the impact.
To excel in this role you will need:
- Empathy: We operate with a profoundly consultative approach. Asking relevant questions to understand customers' needs and motivations is critical. Making them feel heard can make all the difference between a transactional relationship and a true long-term partnership.
- Strong organisational skills: As part of the role, you will need to be on top of multiple threads between different internal and external stakeholders. You will do well if you have a robust personal organisational system to keep track of all the moving parts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a keen analytical mind: You should be able to turn around a deck or a summary document in tight timelines with minimal oversight. You will also need to break-down complex scenarios (market-sizing for a new product, diagnosing blockers on a partnership) to make recommendations.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, and Trello-a craftsman must know their tools.
- A burning desire to learn and develop deep fintech expertise. Selling API infrastructure is a lot harder (and more rewarding) than selling cashbacks. You will need to know about-
- How financial products work:You're aware of how financial products are sold to large enterprises.
- Architecture of legacy systems: To break new ground and close partnerships, you must first understand where existing systems are broken.
- Hands-on experience in solution-based sales and a deep understanding of APIs.
