Job Description

Act creatively to develop applications by selecting appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions. Account for others developmental activities; assisting Project Manager in day to day project execution.

Outcomes:

Continuously monitor database performance using tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), and third-party tools. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through query optimization, indexing strategies, and hardware resource management. Implement and maintain high availability solutions (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, log shipping) to ensure minimal downtime. Develop and regularly test disaster recovery plans, ensuring data can be restored quickly and accurately in case of failure. Establish and enforce database security policies and procedures, including user roles and permissions, data encryption, and compliance with regulations Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, implementing measures to safeguard sensitive data. Develop comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, ensuring regular backups are performed and tested for data integrity. Manage and automate backup processes, including differential and transaction log backups, to optimize performance and recovery time. Work closely with application development teams to understand data needs, optimize database interactions, and facilitate smooth deployment of applications. Collaborate with IT operations to ensure seamless integration of database systems with infrastructure and cloud services. Create and maintain detailed documentation for database designs, configurations, maintenance plans, and troubleshooting processes. Develop and implement best practices for database management, providing guidelines for the team and ensuring adherence to standards. Mentor junior DBAs and support their professional development through knowledge sharing, training sessions, and code reviews. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the database team. Stay updated on emerging database technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization. Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance database performance, reliability, and scalability.
