Associate II - Product Engineering

Job Title: Java/Angular Fullstack Developer (2-5 Years Experience)

Role Profile:

As a Fullstack Developer, you will be an integral member of an agile development team, primarily focusing on the development and enhancement of the GES backend (Java, DB2, JMS). You will also support and contribute to the development of the Angular UI in TypeScript. In this role, you will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and take ownership of problems, features, and projects from start to finish, ensuring successful production deployment.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with business users to gather requirements, track project timelines, and estimate effort.
• Coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and verification of solutions in production.
• Organizing post-go-live support, ensuring smooth transitions to production environments.
• Participating in monthly weekend expiration support on a rotational basis.
• Being part of a DevOps team, meaning you will help own, develop, and support the system, and collaborate on functions related to the expiration process, including a real-time monitoring and reconciliation tool for positions coming into expiry, implemented using Apache Spark in Scala.
• Proactively contributing to improvements in team processes, product quality, and overall service to clients.
• Adapting to newer technology stacks as required, continuously learning and growing in your technical skills.

Skills Required:

• Java Development: Strong server-side Java experience, including object-oriented design (OO design) and a deep understanding of Java frameworks.
• Relational Databases: Solid knowledge of relational databases, preferably DB2, and SQL for efficient data manipulation.
• Testing: Proficient in JUnit or other unit testing frameworks for ensuring code quality and functionality.
• Shell Scripting: Ability to write and maintain shell scripts for automation and server tasks.
• Agile Development: Experience working in an agile, product-focused development team with a collaborative mindset.

Skills Desired:

• Frontend Development: Experience with Angular and TypeScript for developing dynamic and responsive web applications.
• Event-Driven Applications: Experience working with real-time, event-driven applications, particularly in a financial context.
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms and technologies for deployment and system management.
• Big Data: Experience with Scala and Apache Spark for handling large-scale, real-time data processing (e.g., real-time monitoring and reconciliation).
• Financial Industry Knowledge: Experience in the financial sector, especially related to expiration processes, is a plus.
