Job Description

Independently analyze and develop applications and review and design solutions in their assigned area of responsibility on ERP/CRM systems. Manage and mentor a team
Outcomes:
  1. Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options. Optimize application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and by reusing proven solutions while accounting for others developmental activities
  2. Develop technical documents such as Functional Design Specifications Deployment documentation
  3. Perform design document reviews peer code reviews and suggest code improvements
  4. A single point of contact for the build and deployment issues and resolve them on time
  5. Learn technology business domain system domain individually and as recommended by the project/account
  6. Contribute to ERP/CRM Practice related activities for example (but not limited to) assembling content for case studies contributing to reusability coordinating internal seminars and conduct knowledge sharing sessions organizing sessions during and participating in hackathons etc.
  7. Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components.
  8. Identify the problem patterns and improve the technical design of the application/system
  9. Optimizes efficiency cost and quality.
  10. Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.
  11. Code debug test and document and communicates product/component/feature development stages.
  12. Validate results with user representatives integrates and commissions the overall solution.
  13. Influence and improve customer satisfaction through things like (but not limited to) offering suggestions for code refactoring and for improvements in business processes completing sprint deliverables ahead of time helping client architects and product owners by way of design suggestions and/or explaining functionality to business stakeholders etc
  14. Influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams
  15. Learn and implement technology newly released features after impact analysis wherever applicable.
  16. Attend industry/technology specific conferences (if applicable) and share the knowledge with the team.
  17. Conduct peer reviews and demand high quality standards from the reviewed deliverables.
  18. Conduct technical assessments for hiring candidates to developer/lead roles.
  19. Mentor and manage a team.
  20. Set goals for self and team in NorthStar. Provide timely feedback to team members
Measures of Outcomes:
  1. Number of applicable technical/domain certifications completed
  2. Adherence to process and standards (coding standards)
  3. Number of mandatory trainings (industry/technology specific trainings UST mandatory trainings) completed
  4. Average time taken for turnaround on production bugs Adherence to schedule / timelines
  5. Number of technical sessions conducted within Practice for the benefit of peers and team members.
  6. Contribution to RFPs and estimations in ERP/CRM Practice.
  7. Number of Leads who were guided and upskilled to lead a technical team.
  8. Number of process streamline documents prepared for ERP/CRM Practice
Outputs Expected:
Requirement:
  1. Understand the requirements/user stories

Estimate:
  1. Create and provide inputs for effort and size estimation and plan resources for projects.
  2. Follow scrum ceremonies.

Configuration and Coding:
  1. Define coding standards
    templates and checklists. Perform code review of team members.

Test:
  1. Review and create unit test cases
    scenarios and execution.
  2. Review test plan created by testing team.
  3. Provide clarifications to the testing team.

Manage Defects:
  1. Perform defect RCA and mitigation.
  2. Identify defect trends and take proactive measures to improve quality.

Manage Project:
  1. Manage delivery of modules. Manage user stories.

Documentation:
  1. Create/review templates
    checklists
    guidelines
    standards for design/process/development.
  2. Create/review deliverable documents. Design documentation
    requirements
    test cases and results.

Status Reporting:
  1. Report status of tasks assigned.
  2. Comply with project related reporting standards and process.

Manage knowledge:
  1. Contribute project related documents
    share point
    libraries
    client universities.
  2. Review the reusable documents created by the team.
  3. Create knowledge sharing assets.

Release:
  1. Execute and monitor release process

Interface with Customer:
  1. Clarify requirements and provide guidance to development team
  2. Present design options to customers
  3. Implementation reviews with stakeholders.
  4. Work closely with customer architects to finalize design

Domain relevance:
  1. Advise software developers on design and development of feature / component with deeper understanding of the business problem being addressed for the client.
  2. Learn more about the customer domain and identify opportunities to provide value additions to customers
  3. Complete relevant domain certifications

Manage/Mentoring Team:
  1. Set goals and provide regular feedback to team members.
  2. Understand aspirations of their team members and provide guidance
    opportunities
    etc.
  3. Ensure team members are upskilled and engaged in the project.
  4. Proactively identify any risks and work with mitigation measures.
  5. Mentor and motivate junior leads to upgrade their technical screening skills.

Assists others in resolving complex technical problems:
  1. Manage all aspects of problem management activities
    investigating the root cause ofrnproblems and recommends SMART (specific

    achievable
    realistic
    timely)rnsolutions.

Development and review of Standards Documentation:
  1. Maintenance of software process improvement activities
    communicating to a range of individuals and teams.

Solution Definition Design:
  1. Define Architecture for the small sized kind of project.
  2. Design the technical framework and implement the same.

  1. Proactively identifying solutions for technical issues.
  2. Ability to maintain technical evaluation procedures.
  3. Ability to estimate project effort based on the requirement.
  4. Perform and evaluate test results against product specifications.
  5. Break down complex problems into logical components.
  6. Interface with other teams designers and other parallel practice; including regular follow up for any conflicts during project execution.
  7. Create and articulate impactful technical presentations.

Knowledge Examples:
  • Functional and technical designing on various ERP/CRM cloud platform features and automations.
    1. Thorough knowledge of coding best practices and understanding the limitations of coding.
    2. Experience using data loading tools.
    3. Experience with production deployment and solving deployment errors.
    4. Experience in integrating ERP/CRM with external systems using SOAP API REST API etc.
    5. Experience working in Agile methodology.
    6. Must have knowledge - HTML/HTML5 CSS XML AJAX Web-services.
    7. Experience with Google APIs JQuery/any other java-script framework ERP/CRM technology specific mobile development analytics etc.
    8. Deep knowledge on architecting solutions and applications on cloud-based infrastructures.

About the Role The certified Workday Data Conversion Lead will be responsible for data conversion and tenant build activities on deployment projects. Hands-on Workday data conversion experience, good communication, responsiveness, ability to manage multiple tasks and consulting on data conversion/ETL approaches are key attributes for this role. The Opportunity and Responsibilities: Facilitate and lead client discussions on deployment projects (Phase 1/X) around requirements, conversion, and validation methodology of data to and from Workday Lead and guide data conversion activities during deployment of Workday modules (e.g. converting benefits or payroll data from legacy systems into Workday). Partner with customer teams to resolve data conversion related issues, ensuring data integrity, and/or achieving greater process efficiencies. Facilitate data related problem solving between third party vendors, customer resources, and subject matter experts/process owners. Research data conversion and/or reporting issues, identify root cause and implement corrective measures. Facilitate data conversion testing and validation activities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with internal UST product teams to leverage internal capabilities and accelerators for our customers What you need: 3+ years of Hands-on Workday experience in data conversion roles across implementation/deployments (not just production support). Ideally Workday certified (pro certifications count!) in HCM and Data Conversion/Loading.
  • As a full certified partner, UST can maintain your certification Knowledge of ETL Process and experience around data conversion and migration strategies from and to systems like Oracle, Peoplesoft, AS400 and SAP.
  • Good understanding of Workday build and setup data Experience mapping data requirements and translating to Workday structures/workbooks Advanced MS Excel expertise along with experience in one or more software tools like, Notepad++, Oxygen XML or ASAP Utilities. Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Architecture and Data Audits Experience with Workday data loading using iLoads, XML, Web Services, and EIBs Good at creating custom reports for data validation and related needs. A strong focus on customer satisfaction while effectively managing client expectations Clear and Concise communication skills Will require attending early morning or late evening meetings to meet with customer team leads and other team members who may be in different time zones. Experience managing and working with global teams on large scale deployments
