Desktop Publisher

Key Responsibilities:

• Layout Design & Formatting: Develop and create layouts for print materials such as brochures, flyers, magazines, catalogs, books, newsletters, and other marketing collateral.
• Content Editing & Proofing: Ensure all content is clear, concise, and visually aligned with branding guidelines. Proofread for accuracy, including text, images, and overall design.
• Graphic Design Collaboration: Work alongside graphic designers to assist in the visual aspects of design, such as page layouts, typography, image placement, and color schemes.
• File Preparation: Prepare and convert files for various formats, including print and digital, ensuring they meet technical requirements for production or web publishing.
• Software Proficiency: Use industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) for design and layout work.
• Printing Coordination: Collaborate with printing vendors to ensure the successful production of printed materials. This includes managing timelines, reviewing proofs, and ensuring high-quality final products.
• Version Control: Maintain organized records of design files, including revisions and final versions, ensuring proper version control and archiving.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet the companys quality standards and are consistent across various formats and media.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, or a related role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat). Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other design tools is a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail, especially in terms of layout, typography, and image placement.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Creative Skills: Strong creativity and an understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with web design or HTML/CSS.
• Knowledge of prepress and print production processes.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times.
