SAP BW Consultant - Implementation & Support (5-6 yrs)

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced SAP BW Consultant with 5-6 years of experience in SAP BW and data modeling to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SAP BW 7.X environments, strong hands-on experience in data migration, and expertise in SAP HANA and BW/4HANA

Key Responsibilities :

- Create and maintain efficient, scalable data models using SAP BW, ensuring they are aligned with business requirements and SAP best practices.

- Analyze and optimize existing SAP BW models to improve performance, streamline data load processes, and ensure better reporting capabilities.

- Define data flows and processes for moving data from source systems into SAP BW, ensuring accurate and timely data loads.

- Oversee and manage the migration of data from legacy systems (e., SAP ECC, non-SAP systems) to SAP BW.

- Support the integration of SAP BW with SAP HANA and BW/4HANA environments.

- Work on migration strategies to ensure seamless data transfer and system integration.

- Plan and execute the transition from legacy data platforms to the SAP BW environment, including mapping data, testing, and validation.

- Review existing SAP BW data models and queries, making adjustments to optimize performance, speed up report generation, and minimize data load times.

- Proactively troubleshoot issues related to data load failures, system performance, and data quality in SAP BW.

- Provide quick resolutions to ensure smooth operations.

- Work closely with functional consultants and business users to understand reporting and analytical requirements, ensuring the data model supports business processes.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met.

- Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any potential risks.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, migration strategies, and performance optimization techniques.

- Prepare status reports for management and stakeholders.

Skills & Requirements :

- Strong knowledge of SAP BW (version 7.x) and hands-on experience with SAP BW data modeling techniques.

- Proficiency in working with SAP BW objects such as InfoObjects, DSOs, InfoCubes, DataStore Objects (DSO), Multiproviders, and Open Hub Destinations.

- Experience in designing and implementing DataFlows and Process Chains for SAP BW.

- Proven experience in leading and executing data migration projects from legacy systems to SAP BW.

- Strong hands-on experience in ETL processes, Data Transformation, and Data Mapping during migration.

- Familiarity with SAP HANA and BW/4HANA integration.

- Understanding how to leverage HANA's capabilities for optimizing data loads and reporting.

- Minimum 5-6 years of experience working with SAP BW, including significant experience with data modeling, data migration, and SAP BW/4HANA.

- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA and understanding its role in modern SAP data platforms.

- Proven track record of handling end-to-end data migration projects and delivering solutions on time and within budget.

- Strong SQL skills, and experience working with databases like MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA.

- Ability to write complex queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
