Data Privacy Specialist

Core Description Parameters:

Phenom is a global HR software company growing fast globally and seeking a Data Protection Officer to help us improve our management of potentially sensitive information, carry out regular internal security audits, and act as the main point of contact between Phenom and the data protection authorities.

Act as the primary point of contact within the organization for members of staff, as well as externally for customers, regulators, and any relevant public bodies on issues related to data protection

Ensure the company s policy is in accordance with applicable privacy laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and codes of practice

Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and rectify any issues

Devise training plans and provide data protection advice and support for members of staff

Inform and advise the Data Controller or Data Processor on all matters related to data protection

Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice and educate employees on important data compliance requirements

Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders

Hold training with staff members across different business units who are involved in data handling or processing

Maintain records of all data processing activities carried out by the company

Contribute to technical sections of the RFPs and Proposals

Run scans for various Phenom applications and work with development to remediate vulnerabilities

Assist in regulatory accreditation processes

Apply ethical hacking standards to proactively identify issues

Perform periodic third-party Risk Assessments

Perform Internal Audits

What You ve Done:

3+ years experience working in Data Protection Compliance (preferably in the software industry)

5+ years of data privacy experience

Strongly preferred experience in Risk Management

Expertise in European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR

Experience within a legal, audit and/or risk function department

Strong project management skills

Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive and confidential information

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail

Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

One or more of the following certifications: IAPP, CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT is preferred

In-House Counsel experience preferred but not required.

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Information Assurance, or related field

Master s degree or Juris Doctorate is a plus
