About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager in Human Resources to manage Employee Relations, HR Strategy, and Compliance for our warehouse operations across India.
This role will focus on fostering positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and developing effective HR strategies aligned with business goals.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing HR and Industrial Relations (IR) in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Develop and implement employee relations strategies, policies, and practices for warehouse employees across India.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
- Liaise with government agencies, departments, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Handle grievance management and disciplinary procedures in a fair and transparent manner.
- Monitor labor market trends and industry benchmarks to recommend improvements.
- Proactively identify and address potential industrial relations (IR) issues.
HR Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with overall business objectives, particularly from an employee relations perspective.
- Oversee compliance with all employee-related laws and regulations.
- Advise senior leadership on the impact of new regulatory or policy changes on the company/group.
- Develop and administer policies to ensure harmonious relations between management and employees.
Legal Compliance:
- Provide timely feedback on potential employee relations issues that could affect the company's reputation.
- Handle drafting and filing of representations with regulatory authorities.
- Review organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, making recommendations for necessary changes.
- Collaborate with other group companies requiring legal support in HR matters.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or relevant certifications in HR or Industrial Relations preferred.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in HR and IR roles, specifically within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Proven experience in setting up HR and IR functions for greenfield projects is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Solid experience in regulatory fields and operating company experience.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Fluency in English and Hindi preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a multi-cultural awareness.
- High level of accountability, integrity, and the ability to manage compliance and regulatory risks.
- Ability to establish relationships and influence senior leadership, regulators, and external stakeholders.
