Job Description

An HR Liaison Officer acts as a bridge between the Human Resources (HR) department and other departments, external agencies, or stakeholders. Their primary role is to ensure smooth communication, compliance, and coordination between HR functions and business or regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities of an HR Liaison Officer

  1. Internal Coordination:
  • Facilitates communication between HR and different departments.
  • Ensures HR policies align with business goals.
  • Assists in resolving interdepartmental HR-related concerns.
  1. External Liaisoning:
  • Coordinates with government labour offices, regulatory bodies, and legal entities to ensure compliance with labour laws.
  • Maintains relationships with recruitment agencies, consultants, and industry bodies.
  • Represents the company in HR-related audits and inspections.
  1. Compliance & Legal Coordination:
  • Ensures adherence to labour laws, industrial relations, and corporate policies.
  • Handles documentation and reporting for statutory compliance, such as employee welfare schemes, PF, ESI, and gratuity.
  • Assists in handling employee grievances related to compliance issues.
  1. Employee Relations & Grievance Handling:
  • Acts as a mediator between employees and management for HR-related concerns.
  • Supports in conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Promotes employee engagement initiatives and welfare programs.
  1. HR Process Implementation:
  • Assists in executing HR policies, payroll, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  • Ensures smooth execution of performance management systems.
  • Monitors adherence to workplace safety and ethical standards.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Works closely with unions, labour representatives, and government authorities.
  • Engages with vendors, outsourcing partners, and service providers related to HR functions.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Understanding of HR policies, payroll, and employee relations.
  • Ability to work with government and external agencies.
