AWS Database Migration Expert

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Architect with experience on AWS solutioning experience, Database Migration and Networking to design, implement, and optimize solutions for seamless database transfer and migration in a cloud-centric environment.

What You'll Do:

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking protocols, cloud services (primarily AWS), and performance tuning to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable database migration solutions.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Database Migration and Transfer.
• Design and implement strategies for large-scale Oracle database migration and transfer from on-premises to AWS cloud environments.
• Experience in Oracle Database administration will be required.
• Address challenges related to data formats, volumes, and velocity.
• AWS Cloud Services.
• Leverage AWS services like RDS, EC2, DMS, Data Pump, transportable tablespace, RMAN, S3 and others to enable efficient database migration.
• Design scalable and cost-effective solutions using AWS best practices.
• Ensure robust IAM roles, security groups, and compliance standards in AWS environments.
• Networking.
• Architect and configure networks to ensure optimal database transfer performance.
• Implement secure and reliable network configurations for hybrid and multi-cloud setups.
• Optimize bandwidth and connectivity solutions for high-throughput data pipelines.
• Performance Tuning.
• Perform performance tuning of database migration and transfer workflows, ensuring low-latency and high-throughput for large datasets.
• Analyze and optimize cloud resource utilization to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Implement performance monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting processes for database migration pipelines.
• Identify and address bottlenecks in data transfer, network throughput, and AWS services.
• Collaboration and Leadership.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and technical requirements.
• Mentor and guide teams on best practices for cloud database migration, networking, performance tuning, and DevOps.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in cloud computing, networking, and database engineering.
• DevOps Expertise.
• Automate database migration processes using DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or AWS Code Pipeline.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing workflows for continuous delivery and deployment.
• 10+ years in database migration and AWS solutioning, networking, and cloud solutions, with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture.
• Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPNs, VPC Peering, etc.) and tools.
• Performance Tuning: Strong experience in performance analysis and optimization for cloud-based data workflows and network transfer.
• Expertise in tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, or AWS DevOps suite.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Networking Specialty, or equivalent.
