Lead Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer (10-15 yrs)

- Strong expertise in Machine Learning and Data Science with practical implementation experience.

- Solid understanding of generative models, including Large and Small Language Models.

- Proficiency in classical data science methodologies (statistical, prescriptive, and predictive

- Someone who can own the design, development and deployment of AI solutions at scale.

Role Description :

The Lead AI/ML Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI/ML solutions. This role requires a strong technical background in machine learning, data science, and software engineering, as well as proven leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI and possess a deep understanding of both classical and modern AI/ML techniques, including generative models and agentic AI.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI/ML models and solutions.

- Mentor and guide a team of AI/ML engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and tasks.

- Research and evaluate new AI/ML technologies and methodologies, including Large and Small Language Models and Agentic AI frameworks.

- Implement and optimize AI/ML pipelines on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

- Ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of AI/ML solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for AI/ML development.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest advancements in AI/ML and related fields.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with 8+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and Data Science; or

- Master's degree in Computer Science with at least 6 years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and Data Science.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in Machine Learning and Data Science with practical implementation experience.

- Solid understanding of generative models, including Large and Small Language Models.

- Experience implementing Agentic AI using LLM/SLM orchestration.

- Proficiency in classical data science methodologies (statistical, prescriptive, and predictive analytics).

- Experience in software design and practical understanding of modern AI/ML software components (data, data warehousing, AI/ML tools, inference, and microservices).

- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms and AI/ML tools like Azure ML and AWS SageMaker.

Required Non-Technical Skills :

- Experience leading or mentoring AI/ML teams (minimum of 4 members).

- Experience translating business requirements into technical tasks.

- Client-facing experience (preferred).

- Excellent business communication and articulation skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Agentic AI tools (e.g., LangFlow, LangGraph, LlamaIndex).

- Azure/AWS AI/ML certifications.

Interview process :

- 2 technical interviews and 1 or 2 Managerial rounds.

- If the candidate is from Chennai then one of the managerial rounds will be a face to face discussion at our office in Chennai.
