- The Manager - Corporate Development & Strategy will play a critical role in our company by working closely with the founder and the executive team to develop and execute both investment and fundraising strategies.
- The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in investment evaluation, fundraising, and financial analysis, adept at crafting compelling narratives for investors, and skilled in leveraging networks to secure meetings and close deals.
- This role requires a blend of analytical prowess, storytelling ability, negotiation skills, and presentation skills to effectively communicate our value proposition to investors and stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing & Fundraising: Proactively identify potential investment opportunities in the import/export industry through market research, networking, and leveraging industry contacts. Lead fundraising efforts, focusing on securing both debt and equity financing to support the company's growth objectives.
- Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including financial performance, market analysis, competitive positioning, and risk assessment.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop detailed financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including valuation analyses, return on investment forecasts, and scenario planning. Prepare financial models and analyses to support negotiation and deal structuring processes.
- Investment Strategy: Work closely with the management team to develop and refine the investment and fundraising strategy for the import/export sector, identifying key trends and opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including potential investee companies, financial advisors, legal consultants, and investors, to gather insights and facilitate deal execution.
- Negotiation and Deal Closure: Lead negotiations on investment terms and conditions, working closely with legal teams to ensure smooth deal closure.
- Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform investment decisions and strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree, MBA, CFA, or CA designation preferred.
- Maximum of 10 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, or financial analysis, with a strong focus on the import/export sector and fundraising (debt and equity).
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling, due diligence, and investment valuation.
- Excellent storytelling, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of the import/export industry, including key drivers, trends, and regulatory environment.
- Proven track record of sourcing, executing, and managing investments and fundraising strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed for deal sourcing, execution, and investor meetings.
