Job Description
We are looking for a Business Risk and Control Lead (BRCL) to join our Global Product Solutions (GPS) team who is a highly organized go-getter , who is detail-oriented, able to lead cross-functional projects and manage and prioritize against timelines.
- The ideal candidate must be able to understand a problem and quickly assess the criticality and potential exposure.
- The candidate must also have a critical mindset who understands the product and operations to ensure issues address the true root cause and not a symptom.

What you need to know about the role :-
- This role will partner and collaborate with the business and SLOD as well as partnering with other Business Risk and Control Leads, Risk & Compliance Product Engagement teams, Risk, Legal & Compliance Business Partners and stakeholders across Product, Policy, and other supporting teams to determine Key Risk Indicators and report out senior leaders and impacted stakeholders regularly.
- Y ou will manage various risk identification, assessments, process mapping, Issues, regulatory change management as well as mitigation activities.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Product Change Review: Administer the product launch review process while effectively collaborat ing with Product and Policy stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment : Perform and refresh risk assessment including risk identification, documentation, and control evaluation. Translate control deficiencies into mitigation plans and provides recommendations for enhancement. Identify critical areas to monitor and escalates issues and findings to appropriate stakeholders coming out of the process.
- I ssues Resolution : Lead this process including identification of potential issues, determination if an item meets the definition of an issue, completing detail root cause analysis, quantify the impact assessment, proactive solution discovery for remediation and ensure timely closures/extensions/acceptances .
- Audit & Exam Management: Respon d to Internal and External Audit and Testing Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, and Regulatory Examinations)
- Management Reporting & Awareness: T rack progress and provide timely updates and e scalate blockers and timeline concerns to management. Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management . Assist in advising senior management on the status of their risk environment related to risk identification and control weaknesses.
- Project manager and lead the workstream that are cross -functional in nature
- Create and maintain the risk heat maps, process-level view
- Develop control test plan and perform control testing
- Help ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified , measured, monitored , and controlled.
- Anticipates business needs and proactively identifies opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through risk assessment process, emerging risks, and SLA reporting.
- Maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and processes for the areas supported.
- Maintenance of Risk Management tools ( ServiceNow, Sphere, etc. ) to capture data , assess ment and reporting for areas of responsibility . Create and maintain risk inventory including Products, Processes, Legal Entity, Risks and Controls.
- Support other functional areas of responsibility of the BRCL
What do you need to bring :-
- Strong Communication skills and a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to drive productive discussion s with internal and external stakeholders to dev elop and execute action plans.
- Expertise and experience in inherent risk, control design, root cause analysis and quantify the impact of a compliance obligations.
- Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery on a global scale
- Proven ability to work cross functionally and adapt to change are extremely important.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and ensure deadlines are consistently met .
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive results.
- Be someone who enjoys identifying , explaining and solving problems cross-functionally
- Detail oriented, with attention to clear and concise documentation and meeting both internal and external timelines
- Strategic thinker who understands what they are doing and why they are doing it and could envision how it can be modified to increase efficiency
- Critical thinker who does not only trust but verifies and uses data to justify cost / benefit of risk exposure
- Analytical thinker who can work comfortably on data analysis in Excel and other internal tooling to determine quantitative impact of potential issues or operational improvements
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn the GPS ecosystem and the facets of our products and operational processes
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Must display a high - level of professionalism, commitment, integrity, teamwork, and customer service
- Experience within payments industry preferred
