Senior Data Scientist

What you need to know about the role:-
We are looking for a passionate dynamic Data Scientist who should be able to challenge the status quo, and drive data backed decision making leveraging the power of strategic partnerships. They will be responsible for analyzing Payment product performance and health, triaging the issue, and provide recommendation on the best course solution, testing statistical significance and other optimization. They will work closely with many internal teams to ensure the Payment analytic needs are well addressed. The job requires the candidate to build and maintain close working relations with the various cross functional stakeholders.

The Payment Analytics team is a group that aspires to be the one-stop analytics shop when it comes to PayPal s payments processes and strategic merchants. Our team is part of the larger Global Analytics and Data Science organization, and we partner closely with product teams to track, measure product performances and recommend optimizations to drive product backlog.

• Looking for technically strong candidate, with hands on development experience in Python, statistical techniques, SQL and Data visualization with lot of attention to granular details in data., Self-motivated, team player, with curiosity to learn and grow, exhibiting strong resolve and challenge the status quo, to strive for excellence in everything they do, with good professional and academic track record to be part of a team that deals with most innovative payments processing team that deals transactions at scale.
  Your day to day.

• Perform deep dive analyses on key business trends from multiple perspectives and package the insights into easily consumable presentations
• Make data visually appealing and simple to both navigate and comprehend for end-users
• Identify key metrics and drive the building of exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives
• Identify key business levers, establish cause effect, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making
• Engage in problem solving with Risk, Product, Marketing, and various other teams to determine performance trends and root causes.
• Support new product launches by establishing test and control plans and ensuring constant monitoring is in place to track product performance.
• Create close relationships with stakeholders to anticipate answer questions that might be asked by executives

• Minimum 7 years of experience required as Data Scientist
• Strong Python and SQL skills with a lot of attention to granular details in data
• Expertise in stitching together findings to convey coherent insights with statistical significance and analysis
• Use A/B Testing, analytics, market research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to drive decision making.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform deep dive analyses on key business trends from multiple perspectives and package the insights into easily consumable presentations and documents
• Engage in problem solving with the product and various merchant facing teams to determine performance trends and root causes.
• Support new product launches for merchants by ensuring constant monitoring is in place to track product performance.
• Partner with varies internal teams to ensure that the merchant s analytic needs are well addressed.
• Create close relationships with stakeholders to anticipate answer the questions that might be asked both by internal and external parties
