What you need to know about the role

The Senior Finance Analyst will support contra of key accounts and OpEx Braintree, Payouts and RaaS business (PSP business), partnering closely with product and commercial organization along with other FP&A teams.
This role will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, month end close, variance analysis, reconciliation, and reporting related to contra of key accounts and OpEx of PSP business unit, and supporting the business with various Finance related projects.

Meet our team:

The Braintree, Payouts and RaaS FP&A team acts as key Finance Partners to product team at PayPal, providing the connection between product, analytics and corporate finance. You will report into the Braintree, Payouts and RaaS FP&A Lead and be part of the FP&A team based in San Jose but with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple time zones.

• Work closely with the business as well as other finance team members on forecasting, month end close activities including accrual JE, reporting and budget process.
• Assist with month-end close and reporting activities. Book accrual and cross charge JE s accurately and on time.
• Assist in monthly reporting, variance analysis (Actual Vs. Forecast / Vs. Budget) and ad hoc deep dive analysis relating to contra and PSP business s Opex; Monitor expense, plan vs actual, and provide analysis/recommendation for business partners and finance team.
• Work with business, budget owners and other financial analysts to build business cases and set up processes to manage Contra and PSP OpEx
• Assist in process improvements using reporting and planning tools.
• Develop an understanding of the business strategic priorities, resourcing allocation and product needs
• Identify trends, anticipate needs, and gather business requirements to support an evolving planning and management reporting function that meets the needs of the users.
• Process cost center creation and changes, movement of cost center hierarchies.
• Review prepaid contra schedule and ensure appropriate and timely amortization.
• Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies and GAAP regulations
• Ad-hoc analysis & projects as needed to support business needs
• Work autonomously but in collaboration with teammates and business partners.

• 4 - 8 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Consulting at a highly matrixed company.
• Bachelor s degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other related fields.
• Strong experience of planning, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and basic accounting concepts.
• Hands on experience in MS-Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
• A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated, curious, detail oriented, and self-aware.
• Ability to develop and maintain complex financial models.
• Strong work ethic, ability to go deep in partnership with other teams
