Quality Engineer

Roles:

1. Quality Assurance & Inspection Ensure that all springs meet company, customer, and industry standards.
2. Defect Detection Identify non-conformities in raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
3. Testing & Verification Perform mechanical tests, dimensional checks, and surface inspections.
4. Compliance & Documentation Maintain inspection records and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ASTM, or other quality standards.
5. Collaboration Work with production, engineering, and management teams to improve product quality.
6. Continuous Improvement Participate in corrective actions, audits, and process enhancements.

Responsibilities:

1. Inspection & Testing:

• Conduct inspections of raw materials (e.g., steel wire) for quality compliance.
• Monitor in-process manufacturing steps (coiling, heat treatment, grinding, finishing).
• Perform final product inspections before shipment.
• Use measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, force testers, and hardness testers.
• Conduct mechanical tests (tensile, compression, and fatigue testing).

2. Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure springs meet dimensional accuracy, strength, and surface finish requirements.
• Follow quality control standards (ISO 9001, ASTM, or customer specifications).
• Implement sampling and statistical quality control methods (SPC).

3. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain records of inspections, defects, and corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit quality reports to supervisors.
• Assist in audits and compliance checks.

4. Defect Management & Process Improvement:

• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with production teams to minimize scrap and rework.
• Suggest improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance quality.

5. Safety & Equipment Maintenance:

• Follow workplace safety rules and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure inspection tools and measuring instruments are calibrated and well-maintained
