Job Description
- Transcription Duties:
- Accurately transcribe and edit dictated radiology reports, including diagnostic imaging, procedures, and consultations.
- Ensure reports are clear, grammatically correct, and free of typographical errors.
- Verify patient information for accuracy and completeness in the reports.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and proofread transcribed reports for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with departmental standards.
- Adhere to formatting and style guidelines as specified by the radiology department or healthcare facility.
- Turnaround Time (TAT) Management:
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet or exceed established turnaround times (TATs) for report completion.
- Communicate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to clarify dictations or obtain additional information when necessary.
- Track and report on TAT performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of transcribed reports.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of templates and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transcription processes.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow and accurate report generation.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving transcription processes and systems.
- Technology and Tools:
- Utilize transcription software, electronic health records (EHR), and other relevant technology to complete tasks efficiently.
- Stay current with industry advancements and updates to transcription tools and practices.
