Key Responsibilities:. Patient-Centered Nutritional Care:. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess and understand the dietary needs of patients across various specialties, including but not limited to cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, and surgery. Develop individualized dietary plans tailored to patients medical conditions, treatment plans, and personal preferences.
Provide ongoing nutritional counseling and education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand and adhere to prescribed diets. Diet Planning for Inpatients:. Design and implement comprehensive dietary schedules for IPD patients, considering meal timing, nutritional content, and specific medical requirements such as pre-surgery, post-surgery, and long-term recovery diets. Monitor and adjust dietary plans based on patient progress, feedback from the healthcare team, and changes in medical conditions.
Food Quality and Safety Oversight:. Conduct regular audits of food preparation and delivery processes within the hospital to ensure adherence to nutritional standards, hygiene practices, and patient safety protocols. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure that meals provided to patients meet the prescribed nutritional standards and are prepared using high-quality ingredients. Develop and implement quality control measures for food services, including taste, presentation, and portion sizes, to enhance patient satisfaction.
Educational and Training Initiatives:.
