Construction Planning and Billing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Project Planning and Scheduling:

• Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, considering all relevant factors such as resources, time constraints, and budgetary limitations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Regularly update and monitor project schedules, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.

Billing and Cost Control:

• Create accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Prepare and submit progress invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project expenditures against budget and provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders.

Contract Administration:

• Review and analyze construction contracts to understand billing requirements and milestones.
• Ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions in all billing activities.
• Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to resolve any contractual discrepancies.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather relevant information for planning and billing purposes.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, billing status, and any issues that may arise.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy in project plans, schedules, and billing documents.
• Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify discrepancies in billing and cost-related data.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks related to project planning and billing activities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Work proactively to resolve issues that may impact project timelines or financial outcomes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in construction planning, scheduling, and billing.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
