Research and Development Head

Role & responsibilities

• To develop breeding strategies for field crops and Vegetables connecting investment and returns
• Should have knowledge on the product requirements of various crop/s in different geographies
• Manage the breeding programs / operations from planning through execution with the help of his team.
• Train the team / hand hold them and build the team to run breeding operations smoothly ( from execution to reporting) To develop testing plans and ensure it is well implemented at ground level. ( training , hand holding )
• Implement advanced breeding techniques and technologies to improve key traits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and to integrate breeding strategies / development activities with research institutes
• Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in breeding.
• Create processes , and constantly improve them to make them more efficient Manage , mentor , guide and create good engagement with the breeding and PD team and develop pipeline
• Budget preparation and management and being cost effective.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of genetic markers, molecular breeding techniques, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in relevant breeding software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory processes related to crop breeding.
• Efficient in Computers , presentations and corresponding.
• Ability to identify opportunities that can add value to cos future growth and development
