Job Description
- Create 3D models of piping systems using Revit MEP , ensuring they align with project specifications and codes.
- Develop and modify piping system designs for various applications, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to develop detailed design documents and 3D models.
- Create and update isometric drawings , layouts , and schematics for piping systems using Revit.
- Ensure coordination between piping designs and other disciplines (HVAC, electrical, architectural) to prevent clashes.
- Conduct clash detection and resolve any design issues before construction to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) , including equipment and piping specifications, using Revit tools.
- Adhere to industry codes and standards, such as ASME , ANSI , and NFPA , in all design work.
- Collaborate with project managers and other design disciplines to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
- Provide support for the construction and fabrication teams by preparing accurate design documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of design reports, schedules, and budgets.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Revit MEP , particularly for piping systems design .
- Strong understanding of piping design principles , industry codes, and standards.
- Experience with 3D modeling of piping systems, including creating detailed layouts and isometrics.
- Knowledge of plumbing , HVAC , and fire protection systems and their integration within Revit.
- Ability to conduct clash detection and resolve design conflicts using tools like Navisworks or Revit\ interference check .
- Familiarity with MEP systems , including piping, ducting, and electrical conduit layouts.
- Ability to create and manage BOMs and accurately calculate material requirements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Requirements- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- LEED certification or other related certifications.
- Experience with additional tools such as Navisworks , Revit Structure , or AutoCAD Plant 3D .
- Familiarity with other industry standards and best practices (e.g., BIM workflows).
- 2+ years of experience in Revit-based piping design .
- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Revit MEP , particularly for piping systems design .
