In this role, you will be responsible for the packaging of tablets and capsules into blisters and bottles, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Responsibilities:

  • Operate Packaging Machinery:
    • Set up and operate blister and bottle packaging machines for tablets and capsules.
    • Adjust machine settings to ensure efficient and accurate packaging.
    • Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments.
  • Product Handling:
    • Ensure proper handling of products during the packaging process to maintain quality.
    • Perform regular checks to verify product counts and packaging integrity.
  • GMP Compliance:
    • Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent contamination.
  • In-Process Checks:
    • Conduct regular quality inspections during packaging runs.
    • Identify and segregate any non-conforming products.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Complete batch records accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain equipment logs, including maintenance and cleaning activities.
  • Reporting:
    • Report any deviations or issues to the immediate supervisor or quality team.
    • Participate in shift handovers by communicating relevant information.
  • Routine Maintenance:
    • Perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of packaging equipment.
    • Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaboration with Maintenance Team:
    • Coordinate with maintenance personnel for complex repairs or preventive maintenance.
    • Ensure that all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Safety Protocols:
    • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Be aware of and comply with safety signage and hazard warnings.
  • Emergency Procedures:
    • Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
    • Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Material Handling:
    • Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials such as blisters, bottles, and labels.
    • Inform the procurement team of low stock levels to prevent production delays.
  • Waste Reduction:
    • Practice efficient use of materials to minimize waste.
    • Dispose of packaging waste according to environmental and safety regulations.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Suggest improvements to packaging processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Stay updated with the latest packaging technologies and industry trends.
  • Training and Development:
    • Participate in ongoing training programs to improve skills and knowledge.
    • Mentor junior operators and new team members as needed.
  • Coordination with Other Departments:
    • Work closely with quality control, production planning, and warehouse teams.
    • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
  • Team Meetings:
    • Attend regular team meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and objectives.
    • Contribute ideas for enhancing team performance and morale.

General Expectations of Skills and Past Experience:

  • Experience:2-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations, specifically with tablets and capsules.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating blister and bottle packaging equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of GMP and other relevant pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing tasks to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and SOPs.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed.
