Requisition Summary:
The purpose of this job is to ensure adherence to ISO 26262 standards while developing and managing commercial vehicle designs, overseeing safety plans and functional safety concepts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet global safety and environmental goals.

Job Function / Responsibilities:

• Create Test Cases according to Functional Safety ISO 26262 standard specification to support Test teams.
• Establish Traceability between Test cases and Functional Safety Requirements
• Ensure adherence to ISO26262 second edition standard to Develop designs for commercial vehicle.
• Lead Perform Impact analysis for new projects.
• Assist team to Lead Support development of item definitions and perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA).
• Perform safety analyses, including DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and DFA per ISO 26262 guidelines.
• Development of Functional Safety concepts for commercial vehicle.
• Work with vehicle and system architecture teams to derive functional safety requirements and technical requirements from derived safety goals.
• Develop and maintain expertise in automotive best practices for Functional Safety
• Maintain safety-related artifacts/documents and perform review with cross-functional teams.
• Support functional safety-related audits and assessments.

Qualification / Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in in Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience with automotive or similar electronic modules and /or systems engineering
• Domain: System engineering for control systems/code/architecture on heavy-duty autonomous or commercial trucks
• Primary Skill: ISO 26262
• Secondary Skills: Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
• Certifications:
• Functional Safety Level 1 certification (Required)
• Functional Safety Level 2 certification (Preferred)
• System engineering for control systems/code/architecture on heavy-duty autonomous or commercial trucks.
• Working with ISO 26262 standard requirements to develop system safety requirements for part 3, 4 and 6.
• Applying knowledge of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis.
• Experience in performing Inductive Analysis (FMEA), Deductive Analysis (FTA)

Competencies:

• Knowledgeable in the full process life-cycle software engineering development process for embedded systems. Familiarity with the Agile development process.
• Ability to define, design, program, debug, integrate and test software utilizing multiple programming languages.
• Basic knowledge in software testing (unit level, regression and integration).
• Display effective and professional communication skills (verbal and written) including interpersonal skills.
• Interact effectively and in a professional manner with all contacts including external and internal customers and with suppliers.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Coordinate multiple concurrent tasks effectively.
