Network Security Engineer

Role & responsibilities

A. Design, implement, and maintain network systems, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.

B. Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

C. Troubleshoot network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.

D. Configure and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

E. Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and optimizations.

F. Ensure the security of the network by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.

G. Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and processes.

H. Provide technical support to end-users and address escalated network-related issues.

I. Stay updated on the latest networking technologies, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

A. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

B. 2-3 years of experience in network engineering, administration, or a similar role.

C. Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP).

D. Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.

E. Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions and virtualization technologies is a plus.

Certifications (Required):

A. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.

B. CompTIA Network+ or Security+.

C. Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA, JNCIS) is a plus.

D. ITIL Foundation Certification is advantageous.

E. Bachelor's degree, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications such as ISO 27001, CISSP, or CISM Lead Auditor/Implementer are preferred.

F. Strong understanding of information security principles, risk management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISMS, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI DSS).

G. Experience conducting risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security implementation and audits.
