Role & responsibilities

Vendor Management:

Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers of dairy products and ingredients.

Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure advantageous terms and pricing.

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality consistency.

Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels of dairy products and ingredients to prevent shortages or overstocks. Implement efficient inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize costs. Coordinate with other departments to forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly. Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all dairy products and ingredients meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular quality inspections and audits of suppliers to uphold product integrity.

Cost Management:

Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on product quality.

Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.

Monitor and report on procurement KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.

Compliance and Documentation:

Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance in all procurement activities. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and contracts.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and alignment of goals.

Provide support and guidance to junior members of the purchasing team.
1) Has to have experience in milk procurement for atleast 10 years.
2) Has to have experience in procurement from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra & Rajasthan. Gujarat & MP must.
3) Has to have knowledge about milk properties and quality requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar role within the dairy industry.

In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
