Job Description

Track Welding Engineer-1

Project Name: Project Management Consultancy Services (PMC) for Construction of Double line electrified Railway Track with signalling and telecommunication system and related infrastructure for the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor Project.

Functional Area: Track Welding Engineer-1

Location: Navi Mumbai, India

Duration: 18 Man-months

Qualification: Minimum B.E./B.Tech. (Civil / Mechanical) / Diploma (Civil/ Mechanical).

Overall Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years.

Experience in similar position: The Candidate Shall have minimum 5 years of total experience in assigned position preferably on IR/Metro and / or other railway projects.

Preferred Age: Below 30 years.

Functional Role: Task to be carried out by Track Welding Engineer shall include but not limited to:

Ensure that all works are carried out according to plans and specifications laid down.

Ballast: 100% check on quality and check on quantity.

Precautions in Handling of 25 m/ 250 m/260m long Head hardened Rails.

Supervising Mechanised method of Track laying, use of temping machines, dynamic track stabilizers and shoulder ballast compactors for making track fit for traffic movement.

Supervising Destressing of LWR/CWR.

Supervising Welding of 250/260 m long Rail panels by mobile Flash Butt Welding Plant. Thermit Welding for isolated joints.

Checking floating parameters are within acceptable limits.

Assessing the riding quality of the track.

Inspection of track for satisfactory and safe condition.

Approval of Construction design package of Laying of track

Monitoring of progress of Track Laying and welding.

Ensure safety of work endangering public life/train movement on adjacent IR track

Reporting to Dy. CRE, RE s and ARE s at project Site office and OC India HO.
