Quality Check (QC) Head Gems & Jewelry Industry

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Check (QC) Head to lead our QC Department within the Production Department at Orient Jewellers, a leading brand in the gems and jewelry industry. The QC Head will be responsible for overseeing the entire quality control process, from material inspection to the final approval of finished jewelry products. This individual will ensure all products meet the required standards of quality, functionality, and customer satisfaction. The QC Head will also play a crucial role in managing and training the QC team, ensuring that all quality control activities are conducted efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:
• Oversee all quality control activities across the three phases of inspection: material quality, craftsmanship, and final durability.
• Lead and manage the QC team, ensuring adherence to quality standards and SOPs.
• Provide regular training to QC team members to enhance their skills and improve inspection processes.
• Quality Control Oversight:
• Supervise the QC process for all finished jewelry, including materials, craftsmanship, and final durability checks.
• Ensure all jewelry meets company standards for design accuracy, strength, safety, comfort, and visual appeal.
• Take final responsibility for product rejection decisions, consulting with the Production and Procurement Heads as needed.
• Reporting & Documentation:
• Compile and review all QC results, generating monthly reports for vendors/artisans, highlighting both passed and failed items.
• Submit detailed QC reports to the Production Head and Procurement Head for corrective action.
• Discrepancy Management & Corrective Action:
• Collaborate with the Production Head and Procurement Head to manage any discrepancies or quality failures.
• Lead the rejection process, providing detailed reports on the reasons for failure and overseeing corrective actions.
• Vendor & Artisan Quality Tracking:
• Maintain a monthly report tracking vendor and artisan performance based on QC outcomes, identifying patterns of failure and suggesting improvements.
• Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
• Ensure compliance with all QC processes outlined in the SOP, implementing improvements and changes where necessary.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of QC standards and practices within the company.

Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum Graduate (preferably in a related field such as Jewelry Design, Business Administration, or Quality Management).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control within the gems and jewelry industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Skills & Knowledge:
• In-depth knowledge of the jewelry manufacturing process, material properties, and quality standards.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience in managing quality control teams and processes across multiple phases of inspection.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various departments and vendors.
