Automation Test Engineer - Javascript/TypeScript (4-10 yrs)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in TypeScript/JavaScript, experience in API automation testing, and hands-on expertise with REST APIs. Familiarity with BDD frameworks like Cucumber is essential. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our APIs and systems meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript.

- Write and execute test scripts for REST API testing to ensure robust integration and system reliability.

- Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber.

- Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements to identify test scenarios.

- Conduct integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing for APIs.

- Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for functional and non-functional API testing.

- Monitor and report test coverage, track defects, and ensure timely resolution in collaboration with developers.

- Continuously enhance automation frameworks and improve test coverage and execution efficiency.

- Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in API testing and automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript for building and maintaining automation scripts.

- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, including understanding of HTTP methods, headers, and status codes.

- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.

- Expertise in BDD frameworks like Cucumber, including writing Gherkin scenarios.

- Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for API-related issues.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative Agile environment.
