We are currently looking to close a Data Scientist for one of the topmost FMCG Conglomerates in India. The position is based in New Delhi.

Position: Data Scientist

Grade: Manager

Location: Head Office - New Delhi

Age: 25 to 30 years

Qualification: Tier-1 institute MBA/MS/MTech and B.Tech. (Engineering)

- Post qualification work experience: At least 3 years post masters

- Industry Experience: Must have experience in Analytics & Data Science. Strong proficiency in R or Python is must to have.

- Our data science team needs Data Scientist with the capability to perform independent Machine Learning research, development & implementation to solve a business problem. To develop production-grade algorithms for our business using R or Python.

- Exceptional data scientist with a zest for exploring new techniques & technologies and is passionate about science of experimentation. Individuals should also be able to break down complex business problems into smaller components and implement statistical models & AI/ML approaches to empower the end business decisions

Job Description :

- Gathering data from various sources, data transformation and data warehousing

- Exploratory data analysis and data visualization

- Understanding the needs of different stakeholders and designing appropriate solutions

- Building data pipelines for analysis and modelling

- Helping with various experimentations during the exploration and development phase.

- Develop Business rules based and/or statistical & Machine Learning based algorithms

- Creating meaningful metrics to measure various processes

- Communicating results and proposals in a clear manner to all involved parties.

- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analysis, models - development, validation, implementation

Competencies:

1. Minimum 3+ years of work experience in core data analytics. ( Preferably with some experience in FMCG sales & Marketing, Supply chain or operation data)

2. Have minimum 3+ years of hands on experience in R or Python (proficiency in at least one of these data science language is must)

3. Have worked on some of the predictive modelling techniques: Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting etc.

4. Have experience of clustering & time series forecasting i.e K - means Clustering, Hierarchical Clustering, DBSCAN, Partitioning Around Medoids, Time Series Forecasting (including but not limited to ARIMA and its variants, Holt winters/exponential smoothening, LSTM)

5. Have understating of Neural Networks and Optimization techniques.

6. Exposure to visualization tool like Tableau, PowerBI and Altryx will be an added advantage

7. Have experience in collection, organization, analysis, and dissemination of significant amounts of information from semi/unstructured data sources ( Excel, Csv, flat files & combination of these with databases like SQL, Oracle, Teradata or Hadoop)

8. Strong people skills. Have understanding of working with cross functional teams ( IT / Sales)

9. Able to convert analytics insights to business Insights. Able to communicate (verbal & written both) the analytics result to both technical audience as well as to strategic & management audience

10. Able to understand the importance of Quality Checks (QC)

11. Critical thinking and attention to details

12. Eagerness and curiosity to learn and apply new techniques

Candidates from the FMCG/Consumer goods industry or who provide consultancy in these industries will be preferred

Expected remuneration : Approx Rs. 22.0-23.0 lacs per annum.
