Role Overview:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive API sales in the US market, managing key accounts, expanding the customer base, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in API sales, strong industry connections, and expertise in US FDA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development: Identify, acquire, and manage key pharmaceutical buyers, CDMOs, and big pharma clients in the US.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to US FDA, cGMP, DMF filings, and ANDA requirements.
- Market Expansion: Develop and execute strategies to penetrate the US market and achieve revenue targets.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Structure multi-million-dollar API supply agreements with strategic pricing models.
- Networking & Client Management: Leverage existing relationships to secure repeat business and new partnerships.
- Market Intelligence: Track API pricing trends, competitor strategies, and US pharma market dynamics.
- Trade Show Representation: Attend CPHI North America, DCAT Week, BIO International, and other industry events.
- CRM & Digital Sales: Utilize LinkedIn Sales Navigator, pharma databases, and CRM tools to optimize sales performance.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Manage logistics, international shipping, and warehousing for seamless API delivery.
Key Requirements:
- 8-15 years of experience in API sales to regulated markets (US focus preferred).
- Strong knowledge of API supply chain, therapeutic applications, and compliance regulations.
- Existing network with procurement teams, R&D, and regulatory heads of major US pharma companies.
- Experience in handling large sales contracts ($15M+ annually).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and business acumen.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
