One2N - Staff Engineer - Golang/Java (5-9 yrs)

About the Role :

We're looking for a Staff Engineer who will work across teams to design and implement robust solutions, mentor other engineers, and drive technical excellence. If you care about building and running reliable software systems in production, you'll like working at One2N.

You will primarily work with our startups and mid-size clients. We work on One-to-N kind problems (hence the name One2N), where the proof of concept is complete, and the work revolves around scalability, maintainability, and reliability. This role sits at the intersection of platform architecture and engineering excellence. You'll lead technical initiatives across infrastructure, distributed systems, and performance optimization while mentoring other engineers. From system design to production reliability, you'll shape how to build and scale platforms to handle terabytes of daily data processing with high throughput and low latency.

Key Responsibilities :

You'll be the technical leader who :

- Takes ownership of system design and architecture for major initiatives

- Creates and maintains technical documentation through ADRs and RFCs

- Gets involved in architecture reviews and helps teams make better technical decisions

- Drives improvements in system reliability, performance, and scalability

- Tackles complex technical challenges, especially around bottlenecks and scaling

- Mentors other engineers and helps them grow technically

- Helps team to make build vs buy decisions for critical components

- Designs high-throughput, low-latency systems that can scale

- Leads performance optimization efforts across the stack

About You :

- Deep expertise in Go, Java, or Python (ideally, you're great at one and comfortable with others)

- Strong grasp of system design, especially around scalability and reliability

- Solid understanding of Linux internals, containers, and networking fundamentals

- Real experience with distributed systems - you know about consensus, consistency models, and how to handle failures gracefully

- Track record of working with data clusters (Kafka, Cassandra, etc.) at scale

- Experience building and running systems that process terabytes of data daily

- AWS architecture experience, particularly with data processing services like Kinesis, compute services ECS, EKS, and storage solutions (S3, EBS, EFS)

- Understanding of cloud cost optimization and infrastructure efficiency

- Ability to identify bottlenecks across the entire stack, from code profiling to the use of APM tools

- History of mentoring and coaching engineers with technical expertise

- Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority
