1. Patient Consultation and Assessment:

- Evaluate the patients physical condition, considering factors that may affect the choice of treatment.
2. Treatment Planning:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists, to create individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize advanced imaging technologies (CT, MRI, PET scans) to precisely identify the location and extent of tumors.
3. Radiation Therapy Administration:
- Administer radiation treatment according to the established plan, ensuring accuracy and precision in targeting cancerous cells.
- Monitor patients during treatment sessions, making real-time adjustments if necessary to account for changes in patient anatomy or tumor response.
4. Patient Education and Support:
- Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy process, including potential side effects and coping strategies.
5. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work closely with surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive cancer treatment plans.
- Participate in tumor board meetings to discuss complex cases and determine the most effective treatment strategies.
6. Research and Continuous Learning:
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in radiation oncology through ongoing education and participation in research activities.
7. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in the delivery of radiation therapy.
