Cloudcover - Engineering Manager - Data Engineering & Data Science (10-15 yrs)

Job brief :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager Data Insights to join our team who has at least 10 years of experience in data engineering and data science, with significant experience in managing teams and delivering large scale projects.

This role will be pivotal in driving the strategy, design, and implementation of our data architecture and solutions and driving advancements in generative AI and machine learning initiatives for our customers.

This role primary focus will be on developing efficient architectures, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

- Collaborate with Customers to define data requirements, create data models, and ensure data quality and integrity.

- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver robust data solutions.

- Oversee the migration of on-premise data warehouses and legacy systems to cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP and Azure).

- Manage end-to-end data projects, including data science initiatives, from planning and execution to monitoring and evaluation.

- Develop and implement advanced analytics, machine learning models, and data science solutions to drive business insights and decision-making.

- Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance policies in line with industry standards and regulations.

- Explore and apply state-of-the-art generative AI techniques to enhance customer experience, automate processes, and develop new data-driven products.

- Monitor data performance, quality metrics, and model accuracy, and develop strategies to address any issues or improve outcomes.

Desired Profile :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and data science, with a strong focus on cloud technologies (AWS, GCP).

- Proven experience in leading and managing data engineering and data science teams.

- Strong experience with data migration projects, especially large-scale migrations to cloud platforms.

- Proficiency in data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.

- Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, building scalable data pipelines, and developing data science models.

- Hands-on experience with generative AI models (e.g, GPT, DALL-E) and machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, etc.

- Experience with data governance, data security, compliance, and best practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive, results-oriented approach.

- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, etc.

- Prior experience applying data science techniques to real-world business problems in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and experience in storytelling with data.

- Experience deploying and managing machine learning models in production environments.
